Beadalong

Time flies… Feel like I had  a lot of time when they posted the themes for beadcontest, where we have to make the piece, before the meeting.
I had a great idea, and started with that project, but one week ago I got another idea….

And guess what??? Now I´m working hard to get my newest idea finished, and the beadmeeting starts tomorrow….

I can show you now. The beadmeeting is overCrying
The theme for this contest was litterature. And the only requirment was that the piece we made had atleast 1 bead in it.
My first thought was to make the white owl Hedwig from Harry Potter, but I did ditch that idea, and that was a good decission, because there were 3 other persons that had made Harry Potter.
My second idea was a figure from Alice in wonderland and yes it got done Here it is: The Chesire Cat

The stitch is called brickstitch and I use that tecnique when I sew this kind of figures. When I make my bracelets I use peyote.

Here is a video how you do brickstitch .
You start with a row of ladder stitch:

and then you do the rest:

Is it a special needle she used in the first video? It looked strangely long, thin and a little bent.

Yes, it´s beadingneedles, they are thinner than regular needles, and they comes in different lengths. I guess her needle was straight in the beginning, but they tend to bend and get curvy when used.
